Creating a hermetic bond between materials with large differences in their coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) can be challenging. Often, materials must be carefully selected so the CTEs match, or the shape of the bond location must be carefully planned so the brittle material is in compression. MesoGlue solves these problems.
- Materials with any CTEs can be hermetically bonded
- Bonding occurs at room temperature, so there is no size change of materials during cooling after processing.
These seals can be used in lightbulbs, other glass encapsulated devices like certain diodes and reed switches, and viewports for vacuum chambers and industrial processes.
